Jamie Kennedy Wine Bar is probably most consistently my favourite restaurant in Toronto. It’s hard for me to explain why; the food is rarely exceptional, though usually very good. I think there’s something I find comforting about dining alone at the kitchen bar, watching the cooks work, and seeing how much of the menu I can make my way through. I feel calm in the midst of the loud chatter, watching the action of the kitchen during dinner service, and with front-of-house rushing to and fro.
Here are the pictures from dinner a few weeks ago at JKWB. The lettuces and the charcuterie plate deserve special mention: the salad because it featured such pure, straightforward vegetable flavour, and the charcuterie plate because it’s always awesome there — especially the chicken liver pâté.
