Satay Brothers

Roaming Atwater Market in Montreal this past July yielded a lovely surprise – a bustling outdoor hawker market installed under tents north of the main building. Of course my eyes eagerly soaked in all there was to offer. My gaze… Continue Reading →

Revisiting Le Club Chasse Et Pêche

A few years ago, I ate dinner at Le Club Chasse Et Pêche and liked it so much that I promptly made a reservation for lunch the next day. In the time since, I’ve pointed friends and family to this restaurant, and they too have had great meals there. A recent visit with Vanessa (of Tongue & Cheek) gave me a chance to see if my fond memories would hold true.

Montréal, Day 5: Lunch @ Cabane à Sucre Au Pied de Cochon

While researching our trip, we read that Chef Martin Picard of Au Pied de Cochon had purchased a cabane à sucre and would be opening it the very same week we would be in Montréal.  We were initially unsure as… Continue Reading →

Montréal, Day 4: Dinner @ Joe Beef

Montréal, Day 3

Montréal, Day 2: Dinner @ Le Club Chasse Et Pêche

By the time dinner rolled around, I was at just the right level of hungry. The kind of hungry that has you enjoying some bread when they bring it to you, not the kind where you’re mindlessly inhaling it. We… Continue Reading →

Montréal, Day 2

It was our first full day in Montréal, so we needed to start our day with some carbs and caffeine. We Métroed it to Mont-Royal station and walked out to Boulangerie Kouign Amman (322 Avenue du Mont-Royal Est, Montréal).  Fortified with… Continue Reading →

Montréal, Day 1

We arrived in Montréal and, after some attempts to wrestle the in-room Internet into submission, headed out.  Today was actually a beautiful day here, with none of the advertised rain.  Instead, we walked by scores of restaurant-goers sitting on patios and… Continue Reading →
