Places I’ve eaten, things I’ve tasted.

Launching La Carnita

A year after their debut as a roaming pop-up, La Carnita finds a permanent home and opens their doors to eager fans. Me, among them.

Amazing Acadia

I’d taken many photos at Acadia over the last several months, and while I’ve never managed to capture the dishes to my satisfaction, they’ll have to do. Last month, Chef Matt Blondin announced he was slated to join team Momofuku Toronto and I… Continue Reading →

Two-Bite Post: Super Supi Cucu

Diablo’s Fuego is probably one of the most delicious hot sauces I’ve eaten in a long while. I first encountered chef Rossy Earle’s hot sauce at the inaugural Food Truck Eats event last year in little squeeze bottles. Since then, she’s put… Continue Reading →

The Perfect Pastry At Patisserie Royale

My Scarborough tour of Little Arabia a couple weekends ago (with Andrew H. and Besty Y.) would not have been complete without a stop at Patisserie Royale. Truth be told, I’ll take any excuse to drop by this place and eat… Continue Reading →

On the north side of the Scadding Court Community Centre are a series of converted shipping containers housing some interesting eats and I walk by every now and then to see what’s new. Recently, I discovered that currently in residence… Continue Reading →

Nibbles 'n' Notes Around Town [March 10, 2012]

It’s Saturday morning and I’m drinking my tea, reading my twitter feed and catching up on email. There are many events going on in the city and quite a few that’s on my radar. Thought I’d share upcoming things and recent eats.

A Terrific Toronto Down Under For Australia Day

I celebrate Australia Day for the first time. And it was delicious!

Nick and Niagara Street Café

Despite having heard about it numerous times, I hadn’t made it out to Niagara Street Café until late last November. Boy, was I sorry that there weren’t any earlier visits. With time ticking away, I thought I’d post this sooner than later; it’s Chef Liu’s last week, and here’s why you want to check NSC out if you can!

Porchetta Grilled Cheese

Yummy porchetta grilled cheese at Porchetta & Co. Gooey cheese, well-seasoned porchetta, and caramelized onion jam between two slices of white bread. Satisfying.

Le Chat Botté

For my first meal back on Swiss soil, I opted to have lunch at a Michelin-starred restaurant: Le Chat Botté at the hotel Beau Rivage. Framed by an intensely blue sky of a sunny spring day, the blindingly white and stately hotel faces Lake Geneva and the ever-familliar Jet d’Eau. A fitting start to my trip.
